A dedicated Elite community has completed a port of the original Elite game to the Atari 8-bit 800XL platform. This Firebird version port preserves much of the classic gameplay but does not include ship interiors. While separate from Elite Dangerous, the project highlights the franchise's lasting appeal and the enthusiasm of fans for retro hardware. Players with an interest in vintage systems or Elite's early history will find this port a notable tribute to the series' roots.
