Elite Dangerous will launch the Rhino, its first new SRV since 2021, on September 2. Developed by Vodel, the Rhino supports up to three Commanders and features a Planetary Mineral Scanner for a new Surface Mining gameplay mode. Surface Mining allows players to scan and extract mineral deposits on planetary surfaces, with resources regenerating slowly to encourage exploration and cooperation. The Rhino deploys from large planetary vehicle hangars on several capital ships. Alongside the Rhino, the new Operation 'Under Siege' tasks players with lifting a blockade and engaging in combined ship and ground combat. The update also includes a refreshed website and improved store navigation. Players can watch the Elite Partner Program's first hands-on with the Rhino from August 28 at 11:00 BST.
